Curators

Project: New Cinephilia is curated by Damon Smith and Kate Taylor.  The project was initiated by EIFF Director James Mullighan, and is project managed by Neil Fox.

Damon Smith is a New York–based critic and curator whose writing has appeared in Time Out New York, The Boston Globe, Cinema Scope, Filmmaker, Senses of Cinema, and other publications. Currently Head of Curation/Story R&D for Thought Engine Media Group and associate editor/producer at Reverse Shot, he is also the editor of Michael Winterbottom: Interviews (University Press of Mississippi, 2011).

Kate Taylor is a programmer, writer and festivalist based in London. She currently works in exhibition and distribution at the Independent Cinema Office, and former roles include festival director and co-founder of Abandon Normal Devices and the London Short Film Festival. Kate is a board member of Birmingham’s Flatpack Festival and contributes to Electric Sheep and The Quietus.
